The idea behind Dance for the Spirit is to deepen about the origins of dance and the power of movement and more specifically the empowerment of the femenine, promoting self-discovery and self-healing through ancient forms of dancing and moving meditation, combined with newer techniques and fusions.
Our vision is intimately related with the concepts of Dance-Therapy, looking to stimulate the very own personal moves each participant needs to create for the integration, understanding and expression of their very own personal process or moment, apart from the different moves and excercises that we work on together as group in the spirit of community.
This approach allows us to share our dancing with anyone who wants to learn a bit more about the possibilities of their own body and spirit in the search for harmony, and within a respectful loving environment where technical level or physical condition are not suck important issues.
We pay special attention to the practice of a conscious body-mind work, before and after the dancing, as well as throughout the dance. This includes some Yoga and meditation excercises, warming up and cooling down routines, stretching and breathing techniques, guided meditations, etc.
The main goal of Dance for the Spirit is to generate possitive energy, not only within the person who is dancing, but also within the environment that surrounds her or him.
This project may include one or more of the following workshops:
-*New* Gypsy Sambinha *new upbeat workout to maximize your dance sessions*
-Dance for the Spirit
-Gypsy and Oriental Belly-dance (introduction, general workshops and specific themes or styles)
-Gypsy Dance and Improvisation
-Dance Therapy
-Free dance and moving meditation
-Yoga and dance for kids
